okay, fine...

So I'm going to give this livejournal thing a try. Personally, I don't know that my random thoughts and ramblings about my largely work-based geekish existence will be of any interest to anyone out in the ether, but in this day and age of electronic communication, my friends and associates are becoming increasingly scatered and distant. I work with people all over the U.S. and I have friends as far away as Australia. Over the past year or so, I've come to rely on other people's online journals and blogs as a way of keeping up on what's going on in their lives, so it only seems fair that I return to courtesy.

But be warned: odds are all you'll find here are the aforementioned random thoughts and ramblings, and I have no idea if I'll can or will keep this thing up, but we'll give it a go and see what happens, shall we?
