Like the new pic? I like how the skull peeks out in between the lines of the sigil. It's the sigil from Mage: the Awakening for the "Acanthus," the magical path associated with the arcana of Fate and Time and therefore with the fae and otherworldly. In addition to being cool-looking (like all the rest of the new Mage book) it's closest to the way I see magick: as the relationship between spacetime, probability (and therefore "fate") and consciousness. Although the chapter I wrote for the upcoming Tome of Watchtowers is on the Obrimos (celestial/upperworld mages), I associate myself most with the Acanthus (and the Free Council, for Mage fans keeping score at home).

Seems appropos that on Labor Day I'm working; editing material for Freedom City, Second Edition to be precise. Christopher and I and our friend David went out to Avalon last night (which, now that I think of it, must be a popular spot for Acanthus in Boston...). It was sort of an end-of-summer blow-out. Had a blast dancing for hours, although I'm paying for it a little today. It's such a gorgeous late summer/early fall day out. I love this time of year, when it's just starting to cool off and the heat of summer lingers like a sun warmed stone on a cool night. If we have weather like this for Between the Worlds, I will be so happy. It's just a little over a week away now!
