Ah, there you are, Doctor...
Mar. 17th, 2006 11:08 pmWow, the new Doctor Who series rocks! I'm glad I happened to recall it was premiering on SciFi tonight and caught the first two episodes. It's really quite good.
The first episode had me from the moment I realized it was the Autons (which was as soon as Rose went into the storeroom with all the manequins, by the way). It was a touch slow-moving just out of the need to introduce Rose and re-establishing the Doctor, but "The End of the World" more than made up for it, filled with the kind of sci-fi wackiness I loved about the original show. The revelation about the loss of Gallifrey was a surprise; one hopes it doesn't mean we won't see the Master eventually. I'm also looking forward to seeing the episode with the Daleks and thinking about all the fun Doctor Who stuff the show can mine while it also strikes out on its own.
New Doctor Who episodes! Wheeeee!
