[ZoZ] All's Well...
Oct. 19th, 2007 12:51 pmHaving rescued the Dancing Princess, we received a nighttime visitation from the Zorcerer of Zo himself, telling us how we must overcome the Ogre in order to restore the balance in Zo. Turns out the key to the Marquis’ orb is in the hands of none other than Murkelbog the wizard!
So we lure Murkelbog in with the opportunity to both get revenge on us and to grab the “orb of ultimate power” from us. Oh, woe is us! Murkelbog is too powerful! We are defeated! He has the orb the Ogre wants so much! The orb that grants all that power! Good thing he doesn’t have the... he does have the key! Oh noes! But surely he won’t be able to... he is able to use it! He unlocks the orb and...
The Marquis de Carabas gets out and we shove Murkelbog’s bony butt into the orb. Serves him right, the arrogant jerk.
The Marquis flies us back to “his” castle (you know, the one where the Ogre lives), so he can “defeat” the Ogre. We come up with a backup plan, using the magic telescope to try and learn the Ogre’s weakness. Then, when Carabas gets his lil’ tushie handed to him (and his hat set on fire to boot), we’re ready to, well, not exactly “spring into action,” more like cautiously discuss our options. But then there’s springing and action as we use fairy magic to go into the sleeping Ogre’s dream-realm. Turns out the conflict is really inside the Ogre, and we help to bring out his good side and triumph over his bad side. Even Ogre’s just need understanding and some kindness.
When the dream is over, we wake up... back home! The balance in Zo is restored and we’re back where we belong. Will we ever visit the Zantabulous Land of Zo again? Who knows, but the Zorcerer did mention something about a Big Bad Wolf...
