A Song of Ice and Fire
Nov. 10th, 2006 11:03 pmSo I've finally gotten 'round to reading George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series. I borrowed A Game of Thrones from the library, to see if I'd like it (I was burned on recommendations of Jordan's Wheel of Time books, which were not particularly to my taste). I plowed through the first book and immediately went out and bought it and the second. Damn, Martin can write. I'm about a third of the way through A Clash of Kings and enjoying it immensely. It's been a long while since I've enjoyed just sitting and reading so much, as it's often the last thing I want to do when I get done with work.
Actually, now that I think of it, I'm going to add the other books to my Amazon wishlist. As the Starks might say, "Winter is coming" and the holidays are just around the corner.
