Commander in Chief
Sep. 30th, 2005 10:17 amFinally got around to watching Commander in Chief last night (the new show where Geena David plays the first female President of the United States). In a word: disappointing. It lacks the tight pacing, crisp writing, and snappy patter of West Wing along with that show's political savvy. Davis' speech at the end wasn't bad, but it still lacked a measure of gravitas; the West Wing felt like a look behind the scenes in Washington, this show just feels staged. Ah, well, c'est la vie.
Speaking of fictional worlds, today is all about getting Freedom City into layout: inputting proofing corrections, final playtest feedback, and my own final edits before shipping the whole thing off to production. Since we're able to reuse the majority of art from the first edition, things should go more easily than the production of Mutants & Masterminds Second Edition (gods willing), enough so the majority of it will be done before I leave for Seattle late next week. I'm very happy with how the text came out; the new edition is cleaner, sleeker, and packed with lots of new material fleshing out the city and the greater setting.
