I've just returned from a sojurn in the San Francisco Bay Area to attend DunDraCon, which was a pleasant time, as always. I did a "What's Up With Mutants & Masterminds?" seminar (at 9:30 AM, no less), along with a general superhero RPG seminar with Bruce Harlick and Steve Long (who likened M&M and my design as a "New Testament" to the Hero System's "Old Testament"), and the annual "Gender, Lifestyle, and RPGs" panel. I had my annual luncheon (and wedge of stilton cheese) with
princeofcairo and, since my previous dinner engagement had to cancel, also dined on some decent Indian food with Ken (thanks to the GPS system Christopher was using on his tour, which not only provided us with a list of local restaurants, but guided us unerringly to one). I also had an impromptu interview with OgreCave.com in the hallways between the dealer's area and the seminar rooms.
DunDraCon seemed as robust as ever, although the dealer's area was restricted to one room this year (making it seem both more and less full than before). All the usual suspects were there, including local luminaries Hero Games. I found a copy of "Vigilance: Absolute Power" (a d20 superhero RPG) in a 99-cent bin and so was able to satisfy my curiosity about it, and acquired a couple Hero System books (notably the new "Masterminds & Madmen" pulp villains book, which made for pleasant reading on the plane trip back).
Now it's getting back to work to make all the plans I talked about at DunDraCon a reality!
