Merry Yule!
Dec. 18th, 2005 02:31 pmThis weekend is our Yule celebration, prelude in some ways to celebrating the Christmas holiday with our families next weekend.
Last night, Christopher and Michelle led the Yule celebration at Unicorn Books in Cambridge, MA. It was well-attended (easily 60-70 people or so) and a slower, more meditative ritual than Samhain. Afterwards we stopped by the visit our friends Charles and Mark, who were throwing a holiday get-together.
This morning we opened a few Yule gifts (reserving the rest for next weekend with family): I got a Joe Phillips book (I'm a big fan of his work) and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban on DVD (giving me all the HP films out on DVD).
Tonight is our coven Yule circle, just coven members and close friends. I've been preparing for most of the morning: making pumpkin muffins, the Famous Curried Pumpkin Soup, some bread, and mulled wine for the ritual. The scents of the food and wine fill the downstairs, making it feel so warm and homey. Looking forward to getting together with everyone, ushering in the return of the light, and sharing some good food and good company.
A Merry and Blessed Yule to all!
