Zeppelin Zombies!

The U.S. Navy contacts the Midnight Society particularly for Skyler Hawkins’ unique piloting skills. It seems a German passenger zeppelin, missing for months after being lost at sea on the way to Rio de Jenero, has turned up headed for Freedom City. The airship is completely dark, and doesn’t respond to radio signals. The Midnighters are asked to get on board, find out who’s piloting the ship, and divert it to the Lonely Point Naval Air Station.

With some fancy flying, Skyler gets the crew onto the zeppelin, where they find the passengers are dead, killed and consumed by the crew, who have become flesh-eating zombies. A note written in blood on the wall of a passenger stateroom says “Sie werden mehr bilden” (“They’re going to make more”).

Breaking into the control cabin, the heroes fight Captain Schwarz and the rest of the zombie crew. After St. George hurls one zombie out a window, he throws the airship into a tight turn (spinning the wheel to disarm Capt. Schwarz). The deck lists and Buster Corrigan also goes out the window, hanging out to a dangling zombie. He catches the captain’s falling Luger, emptying it into another zombie (and proclaiming his next new aspect will be “This is my lucky Luger!”). Max Caine sends several other members of the zombie crew plunging into the sea, while Buster and Capt. Schwarz tumble off the airship.

Sklyer is able to swoop down using his amazing jetpack and catch Corrigan at the last moment, and the heroes pilot the zeppelin to Lonely Point, translating the captain’s log to learn how the crew were exposed to a strange necrotic gas in the jungles of South America after the airship was blown off-course. They filled some of the zeppelin’s gas cells with it, intending to crash it into Freedom City to release the gas there. The plan foiled, Lilith notes the locale of the strange ruins described in the log as a place for future exploration.

Tip of the hat to Adamant Entertainment’s Zeppelin Adventures for inspiration.

There’s just nothing like Nazi zombies on a haunted zeppelin for a pulp game.

Nice... Although what to stop the zombies that hit the water from coming back or giving us zombie fish. Something for another installment I guess.
