Twitter and Combined Social Networking Apps

I turn to the geek expertise of you, my friends list: what is the best Twitter client for the iPhone 3G (preferrably simple and easy to use without a lot of extra features) and what is the best social networking app for doing simultaneous updates to Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc.? I need your wisdom!

It looks like Google Wave will be a great resource for simultaneous updates to Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and other such sites, and should work with your iPhone once it is finished.

Unfortunately it isn't out just yet, so that won't help you in the short term.

I don't know from iPhones, but I know this: The phrase "geek expertise" keeps coming up to such an extent that the word "geekspertise" cannot be far off.

If you use Tweetdeck on your desktop, I'd take a look at the new Tweetdeck phone app. Tweetdeck is a good choice if you want to sort people into groups. A sync function now allows you to track those groups across multiple computers and devices.

I've tried several iphone apps, and have currently settled on the brand new TweetDeck. The column format is superb, and I'm liking it so far. Plus? Free.

For hitting multiple sites at once, I use Ping.fm. Not sure what sort of apps are available for it for the iphone but I love that I can make a single update and hit twitter, myspace, facebook, etc in a single action. Updating with pictures even allows me to update to facebook and flickr at the same time.

The Twitter app on Facebook will automatically load your Twitter posts to your Facebook stream.

I use Twitterrific for accessing twitter on my iPhone. It works pretty good though I do have access problems from time to time. Those could all be directly related to Twitter and not to the app though. I've also heard good things about TwitterFon.
