The stage is set. Adventure notes are written up, handouts prepared, and I happened to score a few additional books in the used bin of the somewhat scary local game store the other day (Path of Tears, Milieu 0, and the Viliani and Vargr sourcebook for those who might be curious). Still need to copy a few subsector map forms, since I'm going to be creating some of my own but, otherwise, I'm good to go. The first game is tomorrow night, I'll let you know how it goes.

Have fun!

Have your players experienced Traveller before? I've only recently played in a hybrid form of T20 and some older Traveller rules. And you can't just say "somewhat scary local game store" without clarifying. ;)

Not a lot of Traveller experience in my gaming group, and certainly no recent Traveller experience.

The "somewhat scary game store" is "The Wizard's Tower" in a not-so-great neighborhood of Nashua with no parking to speak of. It's one of those "hangout" game stores that, well, smells a bit odd, usually has regulars carrying out loud conversations and/or games irregardless of people around them, and has makeshift shelves with stacks of out of date stock. The fact that they have a small section of used books is pretty much my sole reason for going in there, on occasions like this when I happen to be looking for something.

YOu know you can get .pdfs of all the MegaTraveller and Traveller (T4) stuff on DriveThruRPG.com. MegaTraveller is set in the so-called "Rebellion Era' setting but the stuff might still be valuable (which to say the art is good and it reprints all of the original stuff including the Encyclopedia). It's all also very econimcally priced.

Oh, yeah, I've got some Traveller PDFs, especially since DriveThru was giving a number of them away (got the MegaTraveller Player's Guide and T4 that way). You can actually get the nearly-complete MegaTraveller on CD-ROM, but it doesn't include the alien modules, which I'd be most interested in. Even then, though, I've got the Alien Races books for GURPS Traveller, so I think I'm covered there.

Yeah - the alien modules for MegaTraveller were actually published by another company (Digest Group Publications), which also published MegaTraveller Journal. Only reason I know that is because Digest Group was based out of Oregon and I knew some of the guys involved (albeit peripherally). If you can find the MegaTraveller Alien sourcebooks definitely pick them up ... I thought they were far superior to their predecessors and, in many ways, superior to the current GURPS Alien sourcebooks. Mostly because they included alot of Art by Mike Vilardi. His illustrations of the Aslan are, by far, my favorite depictions of that race.

Why don't you live closer dammit?! I want to play Traveller!!!
