Happiness is a Clean Desk

So, I finally managed to clean off my desk this afternoon and already feel a symbolic clearing of my space (and, gods willing, my sinuses) along with it. For the past three or four weeks, my desk has been cluttered with reference books, papers and receipts to file, comic books, the new phone book, scraps of note paper and post-it notes, and the copy of Voyage of the Dawn Treader I read on the plane out to San Jose. Now it's all back where it belongs and I can breathe a sigh of relief (through my nose, even). Sometimes it's the small things that give you a sense of accomplishment.

Now, if I could only do something about the books overflowing the shelves in my office...
