Holy Downpour, Batman!

About 20 minutes ago, the sky simply opened up and it's now raining so hard that I'm seriously considering the value of an ark. It's a massive downpour, which hopefully won't be able to sustain itself for long. With luck, it'll also break the heat we've had for the past few days, although the extended forecast is for more rain tomorrow as well. I hope Christopher is managing to stay dry at Starwood (assuming it's raining that far out west).

We had almost the identical thing here in Carbondale IL from about 1-2 PM CDT.

Christopher is probably lucky enough not to be situated where we were for Sirius Rising. We renamed the site LaBrea and lost tent stakes, a wine key, other bits of small equipment, and possibly a small child to the muck before giving up and moving out set-up. Fortunately, there's a hot tub to hide in. I can say, however, that I'm only about 30 minutes from Brushwood, and we haven't had anything quite that torrential.

Remember at pagan type gatherings there are two types of weather pattersn when you know rain is coming. A complete circle of rain around the site but not touching...

Or a torrential downpour where the familiars are out on any log they can find, paddling for freedom, while the rest of the folks learn to turn their tents into inflatable life rafts. :)
