The "I'm Not Gay!" Agenda
Nov. 3rd, 2006 11:50 amAh, yes, another self-loathing closet-case in the Christian Right and the party of "moral values" has been exposed as liking some man-on-man action. Sometimes I think the only "gay agenda" in this country is that of people who are so damaged by what they've been taught about their sexuality that they can't abide anyone living an out, healthy life and feel the need to pull us into the back of the closet with them. It's like the saying goes: "Puritanism is the deep-seated fear that someone, somewhere, is having a good time."

Date: 2006-11-04 06:33 pm (UTC)Yeah, it's situations of such hypocrisy where I feel public outing is justified. I don't think people's private lives are anyone's business until they make it the public's business. For example, I really don't care whether or not this actor or that politician is queer or not, but if they claim to represent "traditional family values" and oppose rights for gay people, while hiring hustlers (or having cyber-sex with underaged boys) on the side, then that's something the public deserves to know, IMHO.
