Ah, Newark. So, here I am at Newwark's "scenic" Liberty International Airport for a three-hour layover before my flight to Manchester because, well, flights to Manchester aren't exactly every hour. I've had around 3-4 hours sleep, so I'm a little punchy, and basically killing time on the airport's wireless network before my flight (and before I try to get a little work done).

My last day in Seattle was fun: we originally planned to go to the Science Fiction Museum (which I've never seen) but, unfortunately, it was closed. So instead we went out to see Snoqualmie Falls. They were spectacular, this towering waterfall thundering down into a gorge, with trails to walk down to the bottom of the falls. It was a cool day and mist spread out all along the river down in the gorge. The rainforest ecology of the area was filled with big moss-covered trees. Magical. It started to rain as we were hiking back, so we didn't linger too long, but it was still quite a sight. I recommend checking it out if you're ever in the Seattle area.

At Casa de Ronin, Nicole made us a fantastic dinner of bacon-wrapped meatloaf and mashed potatoes. They were so good! There was cherry pie for desert but I filled up too much on the main course to partake (Hal was a mensch and stepped up, however). While dinner was cooking, Chris, Hal, and I played a few games of Guillotine, which is a fun little card game, moreso because I won two out of the three games. :-)

Then it was time to drive to the airport and bid Seattle farewell. I acquired a life-saving neck pillow at a kiosk in the terminal and slipped into a pleasant food-coma shortly after the flight took off. Unfortunately, the trans-US flight is shorter heading east, so it only took us four and a half hours to reach Newark. I need to stay away until my Manchester flight, and it's too short to get much sleep, but I'll be home fairly soon. Just ... (checks time) an hour and fifteen minues or so until boarding. Guess I'll see if I can get some work done.
