... oh, wait, you mean that hasn’t happened? Hard to believe, considering it’s been a full year since same-sex marriage became legal in Massachusetts. Yet the world continues to spin on its axis and Western Civilization remains intact.

If you didn’t even note this anniversary, because it didn’t affect your life in the slightest, keep that in mind the next time someone rants about the need to “protect marriage” from the likes of us.

Oh, sure, Western Civilization didn't collapse, and the world is still spinning on its axis ...

... but have you seen gas prices lately!?!

Surely, same-sex marriage is somehow to blame!

... and global-warming, that is, if we acknowledge there was such a thing. But if there were, the gays must surely be to blame for it!

I support gay marriage, but I really hope that if it brings anything down, its Mitt "I want to double the size of Guatanamo" Romney. How a state has a Mormon governor and votes for gay marriage is a mystery to me.

Oh, Gov. Romney made his opposition quite clear. It wasn't a matter of a vote in Massachusetts, but a ruling from the State Supreme Court, saying it is unconsititutional for the state to deny equal marriage rights. Factions within the legislature have been working to get a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage passed, but the constitutional convention continues to dodge the issue. The longer they do, hopefully the more moderates and undecideds will see it doesn't affect them one way or the other.
