Finally saw Iron Man tonight and, overall, the film lived up to the hype: it was tight, humorous, and respectful towards the source material without being too self-conscious. The first half was a touch too long and the second half a touch too short but, overall, a really top-notch superhero flick. Robert Downey, Jr. was fantastic for the title role and really brought Tony Stark to life. If you're a superhero or comic book geek of any stripe, you owe it to yourself to see this movie.

I loved it, Steve... probably one of the best superhero movies made so far. I hope you stayed to see the teaser at the end of the credits :)

The success of Iron Man has led to the announcement of an Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, and then finally an Avengers movie. The superhero geek is having an aneurysm of joy.

Loved it...
And a nice set up for Avenagers to. And your right it was a little long at the beginning and they didn't play the story angle of the prison assistant becoming a father figure to Stark. Or even suggest that Stone might have killed Stark's parents.

They did a great job with the armor too. So love to have one of my own.

actually, it was kindof clear to me that he probably killed the dad at the very least. keep in mind i never read the comic...it was something he said at one point, after it was made clear he was double-back-stabbing people. i forget the exact line, tho.
