False Spring
Jan. 21st, 2006 05:25 pmYou'd think it was springtime and not mid- to late-January from the weather outside today: sunny and in the 50s. The snow is melting rapidly and the wind is picking up. Seems like we're going to get some more rain. It really felt like a day to throw open some windows, air things out, and do a little cleaning (which I did).
I also visited my parents briefly. I'm helping them adjust to life with DSL, having convinced them to give up dial-up (and AOL) and trade up. They had some issues with static over the phone line and with trying to use the old AOL software when, in fact, they need to use the web interface to access their old AOL account via the Web. Nothing major, fortunately. Considering I walked away with lunch, four of my Mom's fabulous turkey pot pies, some apple coffee cake, and a book for Christopher they ordered for Christmas that just arrived, I'd say I came out ahead in the deal.
Hopefully, I can get a bit more cleaning up done tomorrow. I feel like my life has gotten cluttered (hence the aforementioned RGP sale/trade in my Jan. 19th post). I feel distracted and scattered of late, in need of some focus. Perhaps taking care of the physical clutter will help with the mental clutter as well.
