I'm up unusually early this morning, because Christopher and I were just beat last night and went to bed fairly early. He's still sleeping in, which is good, since he has his Mabon ritual at Unicorn tonight.

I'm trying out iJournal, a new (to me) LJ client for OS X to see how it works out. I'm pretty much all about software that makes things easier and does the grunt work rather than having to learn a lot of HTML and programming code myself. Thus far, I like it (we'll see how things go when I actually post...).

Our coven ritual is tomorrow night and I need to go to the store for some ingredients. I'm trying out a new bread recipie as well as making the Famous Pumpkin Soup (of [livejournal.com profile] eyeofnewt2000 and [livejournal.com profile] svyyn) by request. I made it for Samhain last year, but David told me he could have it every holiday!

I love Fall weather, and Fall cooking. Yesterday's heat broke and it's supposed to be in the 70s during the day for a while. Leaves are already turning in some places. It's getting to be time for apple and pumpkin pies, cranberries, sweet potatoes, and my Mom's fabulous Thanksgiving Dinner (which we won't miss this year... yay!). Plus the Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice coffee is available again. I think I'm gonna go make some, in fact.

I actually used to do some cross-country skiing when I was younger (and when we had real Winters, as opposed to the frozen mud that global warming has gifted us with). There is something absolutely serene and spiritual about breaking a trail through fresh snow in the heart of a Winter wood. And to sit in front of a crackling fire afterwards...oh Gods.
