Good gods do I love Justice League Unlimited! The show started out good and got progressively better, and this new season has been just great! It's fast-paced, good-humored, clever, and just filled with geeky homages that make it clear the show's creators are major comic book geeks themselves. I mean, they've got the Legion of Doom this season!

For an additional bit of fun, one of the new villains in one of tonight's episodes was "Devil Ray," an analog of DC's character Black Manta (the name change is probably because Black Manta was one of those '70s characters who had "black" in their name because they were African). Interestingly enough, the name of the aquatic, battlesuit wearing villain I created for Freedom City? ... Devil-Ray...

Damn, but I love this show.

I hate you. I don't have cable, so I'm screwed until they release them on DVD.

... and I so wish Warner Bros. would do season boxed sets of the show on DVD. I would buy them in a heartbeat! But, if the glacial time it has taken for boxed sets of the Batman and Superman animated series is any indication, I'm not going to hold my breath.

Although, the sales of the Animated Batman (and to a lesser extent, Superman) collections have been VERY lucrative ... and they've been releasing the Animated Batman Season with great alacrity. Be of brave heart...Justice League isn't far behind.

At least that's what I'm hoping ...

Yeah, my concern is that the release of the single Justice League DVDs (with just four half-hour episodes on each) is sufficiently lucrative that WB will keep doing it for a while and then eventually do boxed sets in hopes of getting lots of fans to buy both. I guess time will tell.
