No, I haven't been on international jaunts. I'm talking about the newly-opened Amsterdam Coffee Company (so newly-opened that their website is very bare-bones). Yes, an independently-owned coffeehouse here in Merrimack, right next to our gym in the same plaza. Since I like coffee and I sometimes like to get out of the house to both have a latte or chai and to get some work done away from the distractions at home, I'm glad to see Amsterdam open for business. They've got a cool Art Deco style, make a fine vanilla latte (haven't tried the chai yet), and offer plenty of seating and free WiFi, so I can see the place becoming my new "mobile office" hangout. Sure beats Dunkin' Donuts (of which we've got far too many already).

Oh, and by the way, Nature? Enough with the freakin' rain already, okay? Thanks. Love ya... mean it.

Oooh, Art Deco! While I don't mind the Starbucks decorating asthetic, having something better than that is always nifty, and I've always liked Art Deco. I'm hoping to find something like that in Navasota once I get there. I'm a sucker for a good coffeehouse.

My cousin, who lives in North Andover, sent me pictures a little while back of the shopping area at the bottom of the hill she lives on, completely submerged.
