Seven Minutes to Midnight
Nov. 13th, 2006 11:00 pmHeroes continues to impress as the story unfolds. I'm looking forward to the next episode and wondering how long the show will maintain its pace and style. I am looking forward to seeing some of the characters interact a bit more; up until now, they've only crossed paths occasionally and momentarily. Still, good show.

Date: 2006-11-14 02:14 pm (UTC)I can't decide if I like the whole "little snippets of lots of characters" approach better than the "each episode has a focused mini-story" approach. For example, two episodes ago we saw Matt and the FBI agent investigating Radiation Guy, but only for about 15 minutes. Would that story have worked better if it had been an X-Files style superpowered investigation, with the whole episode focusing on hunting this guy down? I dunno.
Still, next week's episode looks to be super cool.

Date: 2006-11-14 03:19 pm (UTC)The last time this happened (for us) was with the sci-fi/conspiracy series Surface. Scott and I loved the show and adjusted our schedules to make sure we would always be home to watch it each week. Then it just vanished. No warning. No explanation for what the creatures were below the ocean's surface, or how they came into existence. Nothing.
So now when watching American television I pretty much limit myself to shows that can explain everything in thirty minutes or less.

Perhaps when Heroes is out on DVD or in reruns or something and how the series (or at least the season) ends is a forgone conclusion, you might want to check it out.
