This survey of religion in the U.S. notes:

The fastest growing religion (in terms of percentage) is Wicca. Numbers of adherents went from 8,000 in 1990 to 134,000 in 2001. Their numbers of adherents are doubling about every 30 months.

So in another 10 years, the number of Wiccans or pagans (the survey doesn't distinguish) might top two million or so. The survey also notes that data-gathering on the pagan population is notoriously inaccurate, but probably biased toward being too low.

Huh, perhaps the leftist queer pagan agenda is working after all...

I have to believe that the 8,000 figure is impossibly low. Because there are 1,000 at Pagan Spirit Gathering alone. And I just can't believe that it draws 1/8th of all pagans in the country.
